How do I care for a plant?
The basic needs of plants are light, water and humidity. These three needs are dealt with below.
What does it mean when it says “place in sunlight”?
It means make sure it is in plenty of light, but not directly in the sun.
How often and how much should I water?
A lot of plants are killed by overwatering. Aim to keep the soil moist but wait until it has almost dried out before rewatering.
My plants’ leaves are turning yellow on the edges, what should I do?
Brown leaf tips, yellow edged wilting leaves and droop flowers mean your plants are suffering from dry air. As a rule inrcreasing the humidity around a plant will improve it tremendously. Misting the plant with tepid water in the morning helps.
Does my plant need feeding, and if so, how often?
If the leaves are pale and dropping off, then it needs a feed. If your plant looks like rubbish, feeding it will bring a turnaround within a month.
Do I take off the dead leaves or not?
Pinch off dying flowers and remove any damaged or yellowing leaves.
